Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Engineer with deep expertise in RedHat OpenShift and Linux platforms to support and enhance the digital backbone of our import-export trading operations. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of systems supporting procurement, inventory management, order processing, and global trade workflows.
The candidate will act as the highest escalation point for platform and OS-level issues, while also supporting business-critical applications such as ERP, warehouse systems, and integration platforms used intruding operations.
Key Responsibilities
OpenShift Platform Support (Business Systems Focus)
- Provide L3 escalation support for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) hosting trading, ERP, and supply chain applications
- Administer and maintain OpenShift clusters supporting order management, inventory tracking, and logistics systems
- Manage cluster lifecycle including upgrades, patching, and capacity planning to support business growth and seasonal trading volumes
- Troubleshoot issues impacting business applications (e.g., order failures, API latency, integration breakdowns) running on containers
- Support microservices architecture used for integrations with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customers
- Implement and maintain RBAC, network policies, and container security aligned with corporate and trade compliance requirements
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for mission-critical trading platforms
- Integrate OpenShift with enterprise tools such as ERP systems, EDI platforms, monitoring tools, and automation frameworks
Linux Platform Support (Operational Systems)
- Provide L3 support for Linux environments hosting ERP, inventory management, documentation systems, and financial reporting tools
- Perform root cause analysis for system outages affecting order processing, shipment tracking, invoicing, or reporting
- Maintain system performance to ensure timely execution of trade operations (e.g., purchase orders, shipment documentation, billing cycles)
- Manage OS patching, hardening, and compliance in line with company security and audit requirements
- Administer services, automation jobs, and batch processes supporting trade workflows (e.g., nightly inventory sync, pricing updates)
- Support storage and file systems used for trade documentation (Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists)
- Troubleshoot networking issues impacting integrations with external partners, banks, and logistics providers
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python, Ansible) to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention
Business & Integration Support
- Support integration between ERP systems, supplier/customer portals, and logistics platforms
- Ensure uptime and performance of APIs and middleware used for order processing and shipment tracking
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance teams to resolve system-related issues impacting trade flows
- Support data integrity and reporting accuracy for inventory, pricing, and financial data
- Assist in digital transformation initiatives, including automation of trade processes and system modernization
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Linux system administration and platform engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x)
- Strong experience supporting business-critical applications (ERP, supply chain, or trading systems preferred)
- Proficiency in RHEL 7/8/9 administration and troubleshooting
- Understanding of containerized microservices and their role in business process automation
- Familiarity with enterprise integrations (APIs, EDI, middleware platforms)
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM) and hybrid environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience in import-export, trading, logistics, or manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of trade documentation workflows (Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, LC documentation)
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Familiarity with compliance and audit requirements in global trade operations
- Experience with automation and DevOps practices in a business operations context
