The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive one-day modernization workshop for teams undergoing system modernization. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong facilitation skills to guide teams in identifying common modernisation anti-patterns and developing practical mitigation strategies aligned to organisational business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Design and Delivery

  • Design and deliver a one-day modernization workshop that integrates theory, practical exercises, and hands-on group activities

  • Present on common modernization challenges, clearly linking technical decisions to business and service outcomes using relevant public-sector examples

  • Design and facilitate interactive breakout sessions where teams identify, priorities, and address anti-patterns within their own modernization initiatives

  • Moderate panel discussions with invited guest speakers, ensuring meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange

Content Development and Customization

  • Develop tailored workshop content, case studies, and examples relevant to Singapore Government system modernization initiatives

  • Create engaging presentation materials, facilitation guides, and reusable templates to support group exercises

  • Ensure all content reflects current best practices in software architecture, cloud adoption, and digital transformation

Stakeholder and Workshop Management

  • Coordinate closely with organizers to align on workshop objectives, agenda, logistics, and participant expectations

  • Liaise with guest speakers and panel participants to ensure smooth integration of content and session flow

  • Manage workshop pacing to ensure all agenda items are covered within the allocated timeframe

Knowledge Transfer and Documentation

  • Provide participants with actionable architectural frameworks and tools that can be applied beyond the workshop

  • Capture key insights, anti-patterns, and mitigation strategies identified during discussions and activities

  • Produce a post-workshop summary report outlining outcomes, recommendations, and next steps within one week of workshop completion

Required Experience and Skills

Technical Expertise

  • Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on experience in large-scale system modernization initiatives, preferably within government or public-sector environments

  • Strong expertise in modern software architecture patterns, cloud migration strategies, and digital transformation approaches

  • Proven experience identifying and mitigating modernization anti-patterns and systemic delivery risks

  • Familiarity with organizational change management in technology-driven transformations

Facilitation and Communication

  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering interactive workshops for both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Excellent presentation and public-speaking skills, including experience moderating panel discussions

  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to guide diverse stakeholder groups toward actionable outcomes

Certifications and Domain Knowledge

  • Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture and/or cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Strong understanding of the Singapore Government technology landscape, policies, and modernization direction

  • Prior experience supporting government agencies or public-sector organizations is highly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or formal training in facilitation or adult learning methodologies

  • Experience with agile transformation and DevOps implementation at enterprise scale

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity considerations in system modernization initiatives
