Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Analyst with a strong Finance background to work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to translate financial/business requirements into functional specifications. The role involves supporting financial processes, regulatory reporting, data analysis, and system improvements across finance-related platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance, Risk, Operations, and IT teams to gather and document business requirements
  • Analyze and improve financial processes such as:
  • General Ledger (GL)
  • Accounts Payable / Receivable (AP/AR)
  • Financial Reporting
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Regulatory or compliance reporting
  • Translate business requirements into:
  • Functional Requirement Documents (FRD)
  • Business Requirement Documents (BRD)
  • User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
  • Support system enhancements, migrations, and integrations involving finance systems
  • Perform data analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in UAT planning, execution, and defect management
  • Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams to ensure solution alignment
  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory initiatives when required

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and reporting standards
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in finance-related projects
  • Understanding to MAS & HKMA Regulatory requirements & experience working on Regulatory reporting. 
  • Hands-on experience in:
  • Requirement gathering & documentation
  • Stakeholder management
  • Process mapping (As-Is / To-Be)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Technical / Domain Skills (Preferred)

  • Experience with core banking, insurance, fintech, or finance systems
  • Knowledge of SQL or data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau – added advantage)
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Exposure to KYC, AML, Risk, or Regulatory frameworks is a plus
