The Group Head & Executive Director for India BusinessManagement will lead governance, organizational alignment, andmanagement‑framework development for SMBC’s India business platform. Based inSingapore with a solid-line reporting to the Head of the India BusinessManagement Department in India, the role ensures transparent, consistent, andwell‑controlled management of India-related wholesale banking activities, whilestrengthening connectivity with Tokyo Headquarters and the Singapore Regional Headquarters.The role additionally plays a central function in the groundwork, planning, andexecution support for major India strategic initiatives, including thewholly-owned subsidiary (WOS) incorporation program, SMICC transformation,integration groundwork with YES Bank, and subsequent post-merger integration(PMI).

Key Responsibilities:

India Business Governance & Control Framework

•       Lead the design and enhancement of governanceframeworks covering BC India business management, internal controls, andoperating discipline.

•       Establish standardized management processes,board/committee reporting, and decision-making protocols across India entities.

•       Strengthen transparency and consistency ingovernance practices across banks, NBFCs, joint ventures, and group companies.

Japan & Regional Connectivity (HQ–RHQ–India)

•       Coordinate governance, reporting, and planningflows between India, Tokyo HQ, and Singapore RHQ.

•       Ensure timely and clear communication ofbusiness performance, risk topics, and strategic initiatives.

•       Build unified cross‑border business managementstandards aligning India with global SMBC expectations.

Strategic Transformation Initiatives (WOS)

•       Serve as a core member of India transformationagenda, ensuring readiness for WOS incorporation.

•       Support PMI execution ensuring alignment inoperating models and risk architecture.

India Business Planning, Performance & PortfolioOversight

•       Drive planning cycles, financial oversight, andKPI management for India wholesale.

•       Monitor revenue, RWA, efficiency, andrisk-adjusted returns.

•       Design MIS and reporting architecture for seniormanagement.

Internal Partnership Management

•       Collaborate with Risk, Finance, HR, Compliance,Legal, Ops, and Strategy across regions.

•       Coordinate with SMBC Group companies to aligngovernance and business development.

People Leadership & Cross-Border Team Development

•       Lead and mentor a cross-border team in SG andIndia.

•       Promote transparency, accountability, and globalmindset.

•       Develop talent pipeline for future-state Indiaoperations.

•       Strengthened coordination across India, RHQ, andHQ.

PreferredQualifications and Skills

•       15+years experience in wholesale banking/business management.

•       Knowledge of India regulatory environment andmulti-entity governance.

•       Experience in cross-border coordination withHQ/RHQ.

•       Experience with restructuring, integration, orPMI.

•       Strong analytical, communication, andproblem-solving skills.

•       Structured, organized, and strong risk/controlawareness.
