Job Purpose

SMBC focus on Sales & Trading business in APAC, promoting sustainable growth of SMFG in growing markets in this region. It is important to develop trading capabilities and expand the investor's business. This position will be a senior officer which in charge of managing the trading activities and expand investor clients.

The coverage area for this position extends not only Singapore but also to Bangkok(Thailand), Sydney(Australia), Mumbai and New Delhi(India), Taipei(Taiwan), Seoul(South Korea) and Malaysia. As considering particularity in market-related products such as FX and Rates derivatives, expertise knowledge and experience on those shall be necessary.

This position also shall require communication, discussion and reporting in English and Japanese.

Job Responsibilities

To control the market risk appropriately for the entire group portfolio
To maximize the performance of the entire group
To develop trading capabilities in order to increase customer transactions
To expand investor business in order to diversify our revenue sources
To lead multiple projects in collaboration with related departments for the above purpose
To comply with all the bank’s rules and regulatory compliance requirements
To support APAC branches to improve quality and practice for trading
To provide leadership and mentorship to the group, promoting a culture of high ethics and continuous improvement

Job Requirements

Bachelor or more degree in Finance, Economics, Law or a related field
10+ years of experience in FX & Rates derivative trading (major currencies)
5+ years of experience inf FX & Rates derivative trading (emerging currencies)
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
Proficiency in Japanese language is preferred for regular communication with the head office in Japan as the reports and presentation will need to in Japanese.
