Day ratings use the 12 Day Officer (建除十二神) system from traditional tong shu (通书). The officer for each day is determined by the day's earthly branch relative to the lunar month's branch.
Lunar dates are computed from verified Chinese calendar anchor dates for 2024–2026. Dates in 2027 are approximate (±1 day possible at month boundaries).

Frequently asked
What is the 12 Day Officer system (建除十二神)?
It's a traditional Chinese almanac system where each day is assigned one of 12 'officers' (建, 除, 满, 平, 定, 执, 破, 危, 成, 收, 开, 闭) based on the alignment of the day's and month's earthly branches. Each officer has specific activities it favours or opposes.
Why does the same date get different ratings for different activities?
Each day officer has a unique set of compatible and incompatible activities. For example, 成日 (Success) is broadly auspicious, while 破日 (Break) is unfavourable for almost everything. The rating reflects traditional tong shu compatibility between the day officer and your chosen activity.
Is there more to fengshui date selection than the Day Officer?
Yes — a full fengshui analysis also considers the year's flying stars (飞星), the hour of the activity, your personal Ba Zi (八字) chart, and the direction you face. This tool focuses on the Day Officer system as a practical starting point.
