DBS' Institutional Banking Group (IBG) provides corporate clients with a full range of commercial and investment banking solutions, including cash management and yield enhancement services, corporate treasury and FX services, credit solutions, capital markets and M&A advisory. DBS has cultivated long-standing relationships in Asia based on unique service differentiation and innovative product development.

DEG is a specialised high growth sector coverage team within IBG’s Telco, Media and Tech (TMT) industry group. Our key mission is to provide DBS services to new economy companies and ecosystem players, including venture capital partners, across DBS' core markets. We act as strategic advisors, delivering DBS’ bespoke solutions tailored to the unique and dynamic needs of these rapidly evolving businesses, enabling them to scale rapidly.

Key Responsibilities

Many Chinese new economy companies and entrepreneurs are expanding overseas and establishing headquarters in Singapore. Based in Singapore, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth from this group of companies, through the following:

• Drive growth from a portfolio of existing clients and growing new clients
• Proactively identify, acquire, and cultivate deep, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at Chinese new economy companies and their ecosystem partners
• Structure and deliver bespoke credit and other financial solutions to new economy companies by collaborate with colleagues across DBS markets and departments
• Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes to proactively advise clients and identify new business opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business-related fields
• Native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (both written and spoken) is essential, with a deep understanding of Chinese business culture and the ability to build strong rapport and trust within the Chinese new economy and expatriate communities
• At least 8 years working experience in a commercial or investment bank, venture capital fund, new economy start-up, corporate finance, and/or accounting firm, with demonstrated expertise in credit risk assessment and structuring debt deals
• Passionate about the new economy sector, and well-established network among new economy companies, founders and venture capital funds
• High level of interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation, technical and financial modelling skills (including proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint)
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multinational financial services environment
• Proactive self-starter able to manage multiple priorities independently while effectively collaborating with diverse stakeholders
