The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) is a school of the College of Science. It was established in 2002 with the mission to make a strong contribution to biological and biomedical sciences. Research areas at SBS include infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases and telomere biology and genome function. Since then, many talented individuals from around the world and Singapore have joined SBS as scientific leaders, and researchers.

A Project Officer position is available in the laboratory of Asst Prof Xueming Dong, School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The project will focus on using Mass Spectrometry (MS) to study protein-ligand interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative:

    • Assist in purchasing and documenting equipment and reagents.

    • Conduct literature research and write report/review/manuscript.

    • Other administrative duties assigned by supervisor.

  • Experimental:

    • Receive instrument maintenance training and perform the maintenance as instructed.

    • Assist in instrument set up, implementation, development, and validation under supervision.

    • Basic biological experiment including but not limited to assay, cell culture, gel electrophoresis.

    • Assist other laboratory memebers

    • Other basic experiments assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • BSc degree in Biology or related areas.

  • Experience in cell culture, pipetting, and other basic biological techniques.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholder

  • Laboratory/Research experience is preferred.

  • Experience in mass spectrometry operation and instrumentation is highly desired but not necessary.

  • Self-motivated, strong responsibility for research and work.
