We are looking for a Research Fellow to pursuing cutting-edge research in nanophotonic scintillators. The role will focus on simulations, design and performance of experiments pertaining to the use of nanophotonic structures to enhance the performance of scintillators for X-ray and high-energy-particle detection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform experiments using time-resolved photoluminescence setup and related experimental apparatus

  • Develop theoretical framework and perform simulations using established software like MEEP and COMSOL, as well as custom-written code based on languages like C++, Python, Matlab

  • Lead papers and publish in high-impact journals

  • Present at top-tier international conferences

  • Assist in supervision graduate and undergraduate students

  • Assist PI in writing grants

  • Assist PI in performing logistics related to the project

Job Requirements:

  • PhD (for Research Fellow and above equivalent) degree in nanophotonics, scintillators or related field

  • Familiarity with Maxwell’s equation, nanophotonic simulations and optical measurements

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Proficiency in Maxwell’s equations and scientific programming (e.g., Matlab, Python, C++)

  • Competent in teamwork and presenting results in informative visuals

  • Interpersonal skill: Ability to work under pressure, Ability to work independently, develop solutions under strict timelines, meticulous and eye for details, excellent organizational / time management skills
