School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. With over 3,000 undergraduates students and 1,000 graduate students, it is one of the largest EEE schools in the world and ranks 10th in the field of Electrical & Electronic Engineering in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subjects. Centre of power engineering is a world-leading research center in electric power engineering, driving research excellence and innovation towards a sustainable, reliable and low-carbon energy future.

Our centre is seeking to hire a motivated research fellow to conduct advanced research on power engineering. The position will focus on cutting-edge research, dissemination of findings, and translation into industry applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on packaging design and integration for power electronic devices, including mechanism analysis, electrothermal modeling, and structural design to enhance device performance and capability.

  • Perform software & hardware validation using simulation tools and converter experiments.

  • Publish research findings in top-tier IEEE journals and present at leading conferences.

  • Collaborate with the team to develop innovative solutions for improving the reliability of power electronic devices.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in electrical engineering or related field

  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, packaging and integration, and device materials

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Proficiency in programming, software simulation for multi-physics, and conducting hardware experiments

  • Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently as well as in a team.

  • A strong background in packaging design and integration of power devices is a distinct advantage.
