Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant at the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Program and Department of Physiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Department has a strong Health and Biomedical Sciences program.

Appointments will be made on a 1 yr contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will work closely with the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of on-going projects. The RA’s principal role will be to assist the Research Fellow with experiments, as well as carry out other duties such as procurement and lab management.

Main duties and responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who will be actively involved in performing tumorigenic assays, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, cell biology and biochemistry assays, genome screens, etc. The RA will be working closely with the Principal Investigator, Research Fellows, Research Assistants, Students and the team’s research and clinical collaborators. He/she will also be required to assist with any other duties as delegated by the PI, namely procurement-related matters.

Qualifications

The applicant should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or related disciplines, be passionate and curious about science, possess excellent work ethic, is committed to contributing to science and healthcare via research work and is able to be work well in a fast-paced dynamic team.
