The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities

•Responsible for leading a team focused on the development, optimisation, and maintenance ofD2C functionalities.

•Drive architectural decisions and ensure technical quality of the team’s deliverables.

•Provide expert guidance in resolving L2 support tickets and bugs, ensuring swift and effective issue closure within SLAs.

•Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to understand and translate requirements into technical solutions.

•Identify and drive continuous improvements in development processes, workflow and technologies.

•Develop and maintain high standards for coding practices, testing and documentation.

•Oversee prioritisation of support requests based on business and operational impact.

Requirements

Experience

•Solid understanding of software development best practices, including agile methodologies.

•Strong experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript or Python, and familiarity with web technologies.

•Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.), CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.

•Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional team.

Education

•Academic: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields.(preferred)
