Position : .Technical Support
Location : Nanyang Crescent
Working Days : Monday to Friday (8:30 am to 5:30 pm )

Job Scope:
• To manage, oversee and maintain Health and Safety compliance to all VPA facilities
• Maintain, update and comply with all standards and procedures applicable for the studio / workshop operation and facilities.
• Escalate problems to the Academic staff in charge or Admin office within a stipulated time frame if problems cannot be resolved.
• Perform routine maintenance of learning equipment in the various studios under instruction from Academic staff in charge.
• Perform a regular upkeep of the studios, which may include cleaning and washing up responsibilities of specialist equipment not cleaned by the general cleaners
• To ensure correct operation of all Arts specific teaching and learning equipment and spaces in VPA. (will not include IT & AV equipment)
• To maintain inventory of equipment in all VPA facilities and manage supplies.
• Coordinate with Vendors on scheduled maintenance
• Installation of new equipment
• Maintenance and repairs of existing equipment
• Undertake any other related duties stipulated by the assigned School or Department
• Assist in the tagging of equipment
• Participate and assist in studio-related procurement when requested
• Perform 1st Tier technical troubleshooting and problem isolation in the event of an equipment fault in any of the art studios listed above.
• Ensure all Learning equipment are properly accounted for in all the studios.
• To work under instruction from the Academic staff, prepare and ensure smooth running of studio / workshop practical, associated equipment as required according to the academic curriculum and schedule. This will include matters pertaining to Ceramic studios such as Kiln packing, Clay recycling etc.
• Assist TSO and academic staff with technical and logistical aspects of staff and students’ art/assessment exhibitions / performances.

Professional Requirements:  

  •  At least a Diploma in a related facility / art field and/or the necessary professional experience relating to Arts studio.
  •  Skilled in workplace health and safety 

Preferred requirements

  • Good experience of working within art studios and possess an understanding of this field
  • Background in the visual arts with experience as an art maker
  • Ability to do simple woodwork e.g., construction of pedestals, carry out simple installation.
