職位描述

Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

We are seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to a project focused on “Learning high dimensional dynamical systems on dynamical networks”. There is ample room for exploring sub-topics depending on the interest of the candidate. The focus will be on deriving efficient algorithms with provable statistical guarantees, using tools from: high-dimensional statistics, optimization, probability theory, etc. These positions would be especially relevant for those with a background/interest in time-series analysis, theoretical machine learning on networks, and high-dimensional statistics.

Key Responsibilities:

Take the lead in developing sub-projects (problem formulation, theoretical analysis etc.), running experiments, and writing articles for publication in tier-1 journals and ML conferences.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in Mathematics/Computer Science/Statistics or related fields

  • Strong research background in statistical learning problems -- especially from a theoretical perspective -- as evidenced by publications

  • Knowledge of MATLAB/R/Python

  • Good written and oral communication skills

The College of Science seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all and recruit on the basis of merit, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities, or disability.

Interested applicants are invited to apply directly at our NTU Career Portal

We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
