Overview*
Reporting to the Head of Reliability Matters, the successful candidate will work as part of a small yet high performance team in developing and driving implementation of a strategic roadmap on the risk management, governance and assurance activities in the hospital.
This role sits at the heart of the institutional decision making – connecting strategy, risks and future trends. You will lead strategic risk sensing and will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within our healthcare institution. This position is responsible for implementing risk management strategies to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and as well as to promote risk awareness and proactive risk management culture within the hospital.
All roles in Reliability Matters team are designed as Business Partners, working closely with departments to embed reliability into daily operations. You will operate as a generalist across Risk, Data Protection, and EHS domains, while developing deeper expertise in your assigned vertical. This role goes beyond compliance, it focuses on enabling ownership, building sustainable systems and strengthening risk culture.
Job Responsibilities*
- Strategic Risk Lead
- Integrate risk considerations that aligns with NUHS Group Enterprise Risk Management Framework into institutional strategy and transformation
- Lead horizon scanning and emerging risk analysis
- Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) aligning to Balanced Scorecard metrics
- Facilitate enterprise risk discussions at various levels and management platforms
- Provide strategic insights across domains
- Translate complex risks into clear, actionable narratives
- Act as the risk advisor to various operating departments and promote risk awareness and accountability amongst management and staff.
- Provide training and educational programs on risk management practices to promote a culture of safety, quality, and risk awareness among staffs at all levels.
- Provide secretariat support for Risk Management Committee (or equivalent) meetings.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects, investigations, and administrative duties, where required.
- Generalist (Business Partnering)
Engage departments across:
- Risk, Data Protection, EHS domains
- Support risk assessments, incident reviews, and advisory
- Build relationships to drive ownership and accountability
Requirements*
- Degree in Business Management, Accountancy, or relevant qualifications.
- Strong strategic thinking and systems perspective
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to synthesise data into insights
- Experience facilitating senior-level discussions
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience in risk management, internal control, and compliance preferably in hospital and healthcare industry.
- Good project management skill and comfortable working with figures and details.
- Energetic and ability to analyse complex issues for identification of root cause and recommendation of practical remediation measures.
