EdTech Development Specialist

The EdTech Development Lead will play a key role in shaping how technology – especially generative AI – transforms teaching and learning at NUS and beyond. This role combines pedagogical expertise, product thinking, and team leadership to drive the design and delivery of AI-enhanced learning initiatives across the institution.

The Lead will oversee a team of EdTech Development Specialists and a portfolio of projects, ensuring high standards of design, implementation, and evaluation across all workstreams. The role reports to the Director, AI Centre for Educational Technologies.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage a team of EdTech Development Specialists, providing mentorship, coordinating workloads, and ensuring consistent standards across all project work.
  • Oversee an institution-wide portfolio of AI-enhanced learning projects, ensuring clear scope, structured workflows, timely delivery, and proactive management of risks across multiple concurrent initiatives, while maintaining standards for design, documentation, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Guide the pedagogical direction of faculty-facing projects by partnering with faculty to diagnose teaching and learning challenges and co-design AI-enabled solutions and tools, ensuring strong alignment with intended learning outcomes.
  • Drive product and implementation strategy for one of AICET’s core educational platforms, including stakeholder engagement, institutional onboarding, and alignment with pedagogical and governance priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to translate educational needs into system requirements, and to provide structured feedback on platform features and workflows.
  • Synthesise insights from project work, trials, and user feedback to inform programme-level decision-making, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive capacity-building efforts, including workshops, training sessions, and resource development, to support effective use of AI in teaching and learning.
  • Establish and support partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculties and K-12 institutions, to co-develop and implement AI-enabled educational solutions.
  • Promote responsible and effective use of AI by ensuring appropriate governance practices, risk awareness, and data handling standards across all projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Education, Computer Science, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, or a related discipline – a Master’s degree will be an advantage; OR substantial pedagogical experience in any discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of teaching experience in higher education or K-12 schools.
  • Substantial experience in at least one of the following areas will be an advantage: educational research, educational product development, or learning design.
  • Prior experience in team leadership or management, with the ability to guide, coordinate, and develop a team, will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in product or project management within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of AI-enhanced learning tools and/or experience working with generative AI (e.g., LLMs) in educational contexts.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity and openness to learning across diverse disciplinary and technical domains.
