Business Function
Group Operations enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group Operations, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day operational activities in relation to Payment Processing (Inward MEPS (II), Outward Meps (OI) and Accounts Transfer (RF)), which may include undertaking shift work, overtime (where needed) to ensure BAU continuity; and support on non-biz days (where applicable).
Ensure completeness and correctness of customer instructions before processing, with zero tolerance for error as job entails handling remittance transactions that is of significant financial & reputational risk.
Perform daily reconciliation of payments.
Requires high speed handling over the repair of remittance transactions, abiding by strict cut-off times (e.g., by critical settlements / currency / customer requests), whilst maintaining accuracy & quality over output.
Collaborate widely with internal stakeholders and ensure that their payment related queries are timely addressed, and issues timely resolved.
Ensure timely escalation of system issues and work with tech counterparts to resolve those issues.
Engagement in Payments related projects/initiatives rollouts. Participate in LV testing.
Engagement in Risk and Control initiatives and projects, not limited to control deep dives, pre-audit reviews, risk self-assessments, coordination of internal, external, and regulatory audits.
Issue/incident and error management and the related follow up and reporting.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience in payment operations processing.
Prior experience in payment operations preferred; with knowledge on SWIFT Payment Messages (e.g., MT103/202/202cov/Pacs008/Pacs009/Pacs009COV) and relevant systems IPE, AMH, FTW, OCR++, MADAME.
Provide LV (Live verification) support where required
Undertake shift hours (where required) and participate in weekend/late night LVs (where required)
Ability to work overtime (typically including, but not limited to Mondays (across weekend), post holidays, month end weeks) due to surge in volume during these periods.
Provide SG public holiday support (where required).
Ability to work under stress with a sense of urgency to meet cutoff times and customer’s specific SLA with zero error rate.
Speed & Accuracy — Role requires prompt processing of transactions whilst maintaining vigilance & accuracy over the manual repairs and inputs.
Zero tolerance for error/ambiguity – role entails posting financial transactions on daily basis; and entails high financial exposure risk.
Comfort with variable workload that is dependent on customer payment volumes, not a fixed output per day.
