Business Function

GFM Operations - GFM Ops operates as a Regional Processing Centre (Hub & Spoke) supporting GFM businesses in the region. The hub and spoke model allow GFM business to scale up while remaining agile in product and service offerings in the fast, evolving market environment. As GFM business expands product offerings in the region coupled with the dynamic regulatory environment, GFM Ops leverages on this unique advantage to continue to standardize processes to manage processing risk and to facilitate automation as well as governance of service level and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily reconciliation of coupon and redemption payments, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Process and manage corporate actions impacting fixed income securities, including coupon, early redemption, tenders etc.
  • Reconcile trade positions and cash with internal and external records, including custodians and nostro statement.
  • Review, reconcile and process all custody and brokerage fees.
  • Assist in the monitoring and processing of management fees for Fixed Income Origination.
  • Investigate and resolve trade fails and other post-trade exceptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all post-trade activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Front Office, Compliance, and Technology, to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Identify and escalate potential risks and issues to management.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation projects.
  • Stay abreast of market developments and regulatory changes impacting fixed income post-trade operations.

Control and Exception Management

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and outstanding items with a strong control mindset, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively mitigate operational risk.
  • Actively engage with managers to contribute ideas and develop innovative solutions for enhancing risk management frameworks and practices.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Provide robust support and consistently deliver high service levels to all stakeholders and internal/external clients.
  • Leverage data analytics and support a data-driven operating model, utilizing tools like Value Map, to drive pre-defined outcomes and strategic objectives.
  • Continuously identify and implement opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual touchpoints, and enhance overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain and regularly update SOPs and all process documentation to reflect current practices and ensure operational transparency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in financial markets operations
  • Strong product knowledge of Bonds and securities financing trades.
  • Demonstrated risk control and impact analytical mindset, with the ability to foresee potential issues and proactively implement solutions.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new infrastructure environments and evolving market practices.
  • A proactive and initiative-taking individual who can drive important priorities forward to achieve desired outcomes in risk control and project deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
