Job Description

To support the lab’s research programme by performing experimental work and providing technical assistance, with a focus on mouse handling and genotyping, molecular biology, and RNA and cancer biology–related techniques, to enable the timely and high-quality completion of research objectives.



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform mouse breeding, weaning, and colony maintenance in accordance with approved animal welfare and husbandry standards.
  • Conduct mouse genotyping (e.g., sample collection and PCR-based assays), analyse results, and maintain accurate colony and experimental records.
  • Support in vivo studies by administering experimental treatments as required, monitoring animal health/status, and assisting with the collection and processing of biological samples/tissues.
  • Perform molecular and cell biology experiments relevant to RNA and cancer biology (e.g., nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, Western blot, cell culture), as required by the project.
  • Prepare reagents and buffers, maintain laboratory stocks/equipment, and ensure proper documentation of experimental procedures and results.
  • Collaborate with researchers to provide technical support, troubleshoot experiments, and contribute to the timely completion of study milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, ethical, and regulatory requirements (e.g., animal research, biosafety), including adherence to approved protocols and record-keeping.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Biology, Life science, etc.)
  • Proven experience in mouse handling, genotyping, and techniques related to RNA and cancer biology.
  • Familiarity with ethical standards and regulations governing animal research.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment
