Senior Cable Jointer (Extra High Voltage Network)

What You’ll Do:

1. Carry out transmission cable oil leak repair / joint re-enforcement work in outdoor cable trench
2. Carry out transmission cable (oil filled & XLPE) termination & repair work within substation
3. Carry out transmission cable (oil filled & XLPE) jointing work for fault/damage repair
4. Carry out inspection / repair of sealing ends
5. Participate (hands-on) in the installation of new extra high voltage cable joints in transmission projects
6. Carry out repair of faulty alarm cables, pilot cables, bonding cables and other auxiliary cables (exclude fault location)
7. Carry out cable oil charging and leak repair including oil freezing (exclude leak location)
8. Carry out sheath fault repair (exclude fault location)
9. Inspect/verify new jointing materials delivered to the Store as spares
10. Collect from Store and check cable joint kits for cable jointing works
11. Carry out link-box relocation and repair
12. Carry out overground box relocation and replacement of faulty electrical contact gauges
13. Carry out cable and pressure tank oil flushing including residual gas pressure measurement
14. Assist in post cable and joint fault investigation
15. Assist to collect cable oil samples from OB boxes for DGA test

What You’ll Need:

1. NITEC qualification in related technical discipline
2. 1-2 years of relevant working experience in related fields
